Home user laptop

Im in the market for a new laptop so Ill list a few specifics.

> 4-6 GB I save a lot of pics/music

>CD and DVD player/coder

>At least 2-3 USB drives for an internet card and flash drive.

>Webcam and Blu ray are optional.

>I will play mostly online and fb flash games and maybe some light cp based games at normal view.

>Standered 15-16 inch screen is fine.

>Ill have it plugged in all the time so lightness nor battery power is a big concern to me.

>Im US based and would prefer to buy in the country so I know I could get it serviced.

>I would keep it as long as it works so I need long lasting. I don't flock to the new thing because its new.

>Ill use it pretty much every day and heavy usage since I can have tons of tabs open at a time.

>Budget is 700$ max.

Is that today's designs are mostly 5 year maximum life span. And for proof you only need to start with the battery. I see most have 300 cycle batteries that if the user uses such, it general gives out about 18 months later.

Can you share what you use now?

Also, there are laptop pickers at the top of this forum.

Its broken now but it was a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7428 model.

Im currently using my phone for internet.

Yeah I know laptops break so quickly now so they can get you back in to buy another..
Thank you for pointing out the chooser too. I was just rushing sorry about that.

I guess I should also note my first one was a HP that did not overheat at any given moment like the Toshiba.

That Tosh was a good value machine and as such did fine.

-> Try the laptop picker at the top of the forum and for this price range see what's in that top 100 list that meets your price and has a current generation i3 CPU.

I found this one to come close.
