I am looking for buyingh a 850$ samsung ultrabook.
I have a timeframe from now to early October.
What is the best time to buy?

the back to school pricing and soon with Windows 8 in October the Windows 7 machines prices should fall.

If you need the laptop now get it. You can add Windows 8 in a couple months for just $20. I did the similar thing when Win 7 was in the works. But if the upgrade is like the last one it takes an hour or so and has a tricky part. I'm not sure whether Win 8 is worth waiting for though.
There might be a few new machines out to coincide with the Win8 launch but most will be the same.
If your timeframe is rigid at early October you will miss the launch date.
