Hi all,

I am planning to buy a laptop & have even seen a few which are Acer, HP & Samsung, cant tell u the exact configuration & model nos since hv checked the basic pne which have i3, 2GB RAM & 320 or 500 GB HDD..i just need a basic laptop so tht i can access internet & do basic work on MS Office..Now i am confused which one to go for. So can u all recommend me out of the 3 listed abv & also if u can give me the model no (only if u can)..wen i was checking which we all normally do in any computer shop like GO TO MY COMPUTER + RIGHT CLICK THEN PROPERTIES to see the details in tht laptop, i found samsung to be quicker at this function while the configuration was the same in all the 3..

Now i dont knw whether in terms of service center will there b more convenience with HP , Samsung or Acer..

Service is pretty dead today. Almost all makers have folk reload the OS for most troubles and then some have service center issues.

Our best hope is for a reliable laptop and never send it in or expect them to support the software.

The Acer are usually great value machines, but without the model numbers I can't look further. The aluminum case machines are a favorite at the office since we move around a lot, travel and don't want to suffer hinge failures.

thanks for the reply, but suppose if u were given a choice to purchase a laptop for urself then wich one wud u go for considering the face tht u wud b using it only for internet & home purpose with a requirement of say 13 processor & 2 or 4 GB RAM...would really appreciate the input..

I'd dismiss the 2GB model unless

Speed is a non-issue or you intend to load Linux.

No list is possible since there are thousands of models that fit that requirement and finding the best would be something that would change daily as deals come and go.

I'd check out Newegg's and CNET laptop choosers noted at the top of this forum next.
