Playing a video on the HDTV and continuing to work on other stuff. That's pretty hit or miss and not something I've found the maker of the laptop to be a factor. (think windows and apps?)

I do not suggest buying a machine sight unseen because it could have a terrible keyboard or display and for programming these are critical parts to your productivity.

That said, I am typing on a prior Samsung model rc512 with the rather nice sleep and wake in under 5 seconds. That's a zero power sleep and is a killer feature. Very very nice touch to get one of the Ultrabook features into a laptop.

This model has aluminum on top and gives it a solid feel. My only quibble is the key top lettering wore off faster than prior laptops. No biggy but some will be lost without that.

Go shopping, get a look at the screens and keyboards.

Went for the samsung

To whoever is interested,
I went to a microsoft store (never even new they existed) that had both laptops on display, and played around for over 20 minutes with each one of them.

I couldn't really notice the difference in the resolution (samsung better), but the difference between the glossy (dell) and matt (samsung) was very obvious. The glossy does look better, but I hate the reflections on it.

The dell has faster hardrive, but the samsung comes with the express cache (8gb of flash drive) so I think it reduces the differences.

The multitouch on the dell was much smoother, though none of them come close to the macbook pro.

personally I liked the touch of the samsung keyboard better, and the spacing between the keys. I was a bit dissapointed that there wasn't any key for playing and pausing media.
