Need laptop for school, daily internet use. 3 Choices

I am going back to school next fall and really need to upgrade my computer. I'm currently using a Lenovo netbook, which has been surprisingly good these past few years. But I know I will need something that can handle multiple tasks. I will use this computer daily for class, lots of internet surfing, need space for storage, etc.

I'm in love w/ the ultrathin 13" models as portability is VERY important and considering the following: Samsung Series 9 (so sexy, but I don't think it has a built in optical drive and it's a bit pricey), Toshiba Portege R835 (great price!, but I'm affraid it won't be able to handle multiple tasks) and the Dell XPS 14z (nice design, kind of falls in the middle).

Any opinions?

Storage is very good for an Ultrabook. As to the DVD drive, why lug that around?
