Matte vs Glossy Screen

Hey I'm looking at buying the new HP Pavilion dv6t quad edition laptop and there are two screen options: HP Brightview display (glossy) with a resolution of 1366x768 and the HP Anti-Glare screen (matte) with a resolution of 1920x1080.
Now in an ideal world, I could get the brightview screen in the 1920x1080 resolution because I know I like HP's brightview screens. However, I have never used a laptop with a matte screen.
While the idea of not having any glare seems nice, in reality, I will be spending a lot of my time inside (and quite possibly near a wall outlet =P) when using this laptop.
So my questions to you are:
1. Does the matte finish seem to lower the resolution? I have read that sometimes it can dull an image. If so, would the two displays appear to be equally sharp?
2. Which screen will provide a better overall feel when watching video, or playing TES: V Skyrim next fall?
Thank you for your feedback.
