My first laptop

Im buying my first laptop computer and have a few questions.Im going for a dell xps and Its asking me thes things

Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 (2MB cache/2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB) iNCLUDED
Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 (3MB cache/2.53GHz/1066Mhz FSB) +$125.00
Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 (6MB cache/2.8GHz/1066Mhz FSB) +$300.00


fOR MEMORY IS
4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1067MHz (2 Dimms) ENOUGH OR UPGRADE TO
6GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1067MHz (2 Dimms) FOR $160.00


Should I make any kind of upgrades or are the things it comes with fine

So you know my laptop will be used for storing music photos printing heavy web surfing and rarely gaming.thanks for the help

I have a slightly faster CPU, same RAM and it's all good. HP dv6-1361sb

I'm finding folk that are moving from 512MB XP machines to Windows 7 4GB without issue.

For what you are using it for

Since you aren't doing much gaming and its primarily web surfing, music, etc I suggest going for the 2.53 GHZ processor and 4 GB of RAM. With PCs now coming with Windows 7, 4 GB is plenty for most applications. The 2.2 Ghz processor will most likely suffice for your needs but keep in mind that this computer should last you a couple years so the extra $125 will keep your computer 'up to par' in the years to come. Check out the sony vaio fw series. I'm sure they'll have comparable prices (or better) to dell
