Ideapad Y710 -- a good deal? A 3-yr warranty?

Hi there,
I can get a discount for an IBM laptop for my boyfriend. He'll be using it for music, pictures, internet, some video. He wanted a bigger screen, so we went with the Y710. I'm not sure if this is a ripoff or not as there are not many reviews out there for this model. We also went with a 3 yr warranty after reading up on past experiences. I'd appreciate any opinions you might have. Here are the specs:
