11-yr old girl wants to buy her own gaming laptop-help?

My 11-year old daughter is saving up to buy her own laptop. She's planning on spending no more than $850.00, if possible.
Here are her qualifications:
1. Not too big. Actually, for her, the smaller and lighter weight the better.
2. Can run HER type of games well and with no problems. Her favorite is SIMS and such.
3. Easily portable with really good battery life. It'd be best if she didn't have to be tied down to a plug all of the time.
4. Great screen, even if small
About the only other thing that she would do right now is watch videos on YouTube.
Please advise on this. My husband's new laptop has VISTA, which, from my point of view seems to suck...would an XP laptop be a better suggestion for my daughter?
I have no idea which laptop would be the best for her. Please don't advise a desktop - she would want to take this with her (hence the need for it to be a smaller size).
Thanks SO much for the help!
