M/S WIN Live Mail display white inverted to black

software / equipment: win 7 pro 64 bit, AMD Athlon II X4 (unlocked) 630, ASUS MoBo M4A78T-E, 12 Gb RAM, using PCIe v2.0 x16 nVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 video card. Been operating in this configuration normally for more than a year.
problem: 1) in normal M/S Windows Live Mail display, left (storage folders) and right windows (reduced size calendar/current events), plus surround for message list and selected message (header and footer), now (on startup this am) showing black background vs white; all lettering in display normal except jumbled in bottom right above task bar reporting new message arrivals.
2) bottom taskbar on desktop different color (washed out blue) 3) noted during past couple months if computer allowed to go to screen saver mode while in Live Mail, upon wake-up with mouse or CNTRL, pattern observed above persist for few seconds until Left Click on message screen, then normal display (like beginning to fault to current fault mode, but recovered until today).
correction attempts thus far: As start to T/S, reverted to on-board graphics display adapter and change-out of monitor; zero change in symptoms of problem.
