Trying to get rid of http://ad.directrev.com/RealMedia/ads/a

I have Windows 7 Starter on a Mini Vaio.

Can't seem to get rid of Direct Ad pop-up and whatever else is going on which is related.

My Firefox and other software often says 'not responding', but it usually doesn't last too long.

Have tried CCleaner, and Slim Cleaner w/ no luck.

Couldn't find any registry keys associated w/ D Ad, but I don't like to mess w/ the regedit thing too much.

Fed up w/ this problem and need your sound advice please. AS

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/483933/redirect-virus-and-ad-popup-virus/ is the usual but since this one can go pretty deep, all I can add is to try Grif's advice and if it's still there, get on the bleepingcomputer site.
