unable to connect wifi

i am uble to connect wifi (my college wifi) .
i tried everything i updated driver , formatted my harddisk.
i saw some solution like release ip and renew ip. i try to release ip. am gettin this message
"Windows IP Configuration

No operation can be performed on Wireless Network Connection while it has its media disconnected.
No operation can be performed on Bluetooth Network Connection while it has its media disconnected.
An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The system cannot find the file specified."

What I read:
Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection:
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected

Might be a hardware error. Or the WiFi is disabled by the WiFi switch (can be hardware or software). Or, after formatting, you didn't install the right driver or all needed software.

What I should do:
- study what the user manual says about enabling and disabling WiFi
- apply that knowledge after going back to factory conditions from the makers restore media
If no luck, it most likely is a hardware problem.

Bro i installed drivers after format and if i create hotspot in my mobile i can able to connect and use internet from my mobile using wifi,

windows showing error msg "proble with wireless adapter or acess point "
i can able use wifi (college network) from my friends lappy. dont know its not connecting only in my lap

Tells me that Windows 7, the OS is installed but not the drivers for your PC.

Given no make or model I can't offer more.

The mobile connection looks to be active so there is no reason to expect a WiFi connection to work. Didn't anyone warn you of that?

wifi working fine with other wifi network i can able to use my mobile internet using wifi, and also no problem with my college wifi network also can able use from my friends lap.

If other wifi networks work and this does not, you may be bumping into a known issue. I can't offer what it is yet because the router makers are still looking into it.
