Adobe Photoshop Elements 10

I am not sure where to start, but I want to know if Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 will help me manage, orangize, and sort digital photographs already stored on the hard drive? Another words, I have thousands of duplicate photosgraphs in files and folders that i want to be able to pare down to one copy. If this software is not the best software to use for these purposes, do you all have any recommendations? Thank you.

If you pared it down to one copy and I take it you have no other copy for backup, isn't this exactly where folk melt down as the drive spins down for the last time?

After I tackle the backup issues so I never lose my collection I can look at Adobe's features at their web site.

Does have the features you want. When you load the program the1st time chose the organizer and follow the instructions.
Better yet, pick up a book on Photoshop Elements 10.
The one I use is "Photoshop Elements 10 the fast and easy way to learn" by Mike Wooldridge and Brianna Stuart.
Very easy to follow and has pretty much everything you need to know about the program and what it can do.

An excellent program for finding duplicate files of all kinds is Auslogic Duplicate Finder. It's free and simple to use. Be aware that it will also find duplicates within other programs or within widows. Use caution if you try deleting these, as you could cripple a program or your computer. Limiting your search in Auslogic Duplicate Finder is very easy and flexible in their Option menu. Searching only for photos will do your work and keep you safe. You can find it in CNET's Download section.
