program closing after 12 seconds

hi my laptop is running win7 x 64 bit, i have one program that opens ok but closes after about 12 second, i have this same program in my XP home laptop and it runs perfectly.
this is not a virus problem , i have tried ( one at a time ) a paid for version of vipre, a free version of malwarebytes and a free version of zone alarm, all with the same result.
i have opened the program when i have not been connected to the internet, same result, any advice would be appreciated

Given so little detail it appears that this app has failed.

There are apps I know about that do this such as Adobe Reader and there's a simple common issue with that app.

So, what is it?

What is the program? Does the program author state that the program version is compatible with Windows 7?

Is the program Windows 7 compatible?

A number of programs that were written for XP don't run under Windows 7. Have you checked to see if it's Windows 7 compatible? If it's not, you could try installing it in compatibility mode.
Also when you checked for viruses, did you do it in Safe Mode? If not you should because some viruses can hide themselves in normal mode.
