Hello. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop. It originally came with Windows Vista, to which I quickly went back to XP with. This was many years ago. Now, I have just formatted the Hard Drive, and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Professional. Everything is running great, except a few slip ups, with the Video, and sometimes other things. I have constantly upgraded the hardware in that computer, so there is no problem with specs not being up to par for 7 at all.

I went onto Dell's website to look over the driver's available for the machine, however, they only offer driver's for XP, and Vista OS'. Can anyone help me to a spot I can get drivers for 7 for it? I am really hoping there will be such a place offering them, as the computer still runs great, and needed this freshening up.

Try the Vista drivers

Most of the time the Vista drivers will work with Windows 7, so if you haven't tried that, I'd try it. If that doesn't work, you could try installing the drivers in compatibility mode. If all else fails, you could try the Dell forums - they have some very good ones so somebody else there might've run into your situation and found a solution.
I have to say that while Vista was very poorly received when it first came out, it works very well these days after the two Service Packs (SP1 & SP2) came out. I still run it on a 3 year old desktop, and it works very well. Vista and Windows 7 are 80% the same.

The only problem with drivers may be the Touch Pad. Look for R244796, that is the driver for Windows 7 for the Touch pad. The webcam package is called R230133. If Dell Dock is missing, see here: http://www.delldock.com/
Check device manager for any missing drivers or use a driver update package. I used one supposedly made for the Inspiron1525 and it found more up-to-date drivers than the Windows 7 searcher app, but I still needed those mentioned above.
