Installing IE 10

I installed the IE 10 browser and after I re-started my machine, it acted as it did when it was brand new (I just bought this HP machine w/Windows 7 Ultimate, a 16G memory and a 1TB hard drive). At first, I thought I lost everything somehow but I doublechecked and all my programs, etc. were still there. I then re-started it and it started normally again (fortunately). Anyone else have their system react like this?

You know this is pre-release software, don't you?

I don't think many Windows 7 users are going to want pre-release software, which is what IE10 for Windows 7 is. The only advantage I've seen for it is touch screen support, and most of us don't have those either. What motivated you to try it?

I Have IE 10 for 2 weeks now

I have not lost anything at all. But there are some minor changes to make in the Control Panel, Internet Options under Browsing history, there Delete and Settings the latter I changed history to 0 from 50 days, on delete, you will see Preserve Favorites, I deleted it all and unchecked that box. Menu bar. You may find that the icons are too big, WIN7 allows you to personalize them, WIN 8 Pro is a whole different thing. I had to use Alt + Scroll Mouse to resize. Darrell

I read you lost everything.

That's the entire idea of pre-release. To put it out there to see if it blows up on folk.

Folk that want to test pre-release stuff are ready to lose it all!

I thought something was wrong, but after I re-started the computer a second time, everything worked normally again.
