I know this is simple, but I can't figure this out for the life of me. I have a server running Win Server 2K3 & WMP 11. I have a library set up on that machine and shared. Now, on my Win7 client machine, I open WMP 12, and cannot find where to tell it to open the shared library.
I am getting very frustrated with this, it has to be so simple! I have searched Google using 2 dozen different search strings, but all I can find is how to share my library in WMP 12, not how to open a shared library on another machine.
Is it possible that WMP 11 & WMP 12 have different protocols, and aren't able to share between the 2? Or am I just missing the setting that is right in front of me.

And it's not silly either. I'd like to know why you think this is simple when you have a Windows Server that you take courses on and books to learn how to administrate.

I just can't find the setting in the client side of Windows Media Player 12 to open the shared library. That is what is silly.
If you've been through the prior 11 versions.

You learn this isn't silly but tragic. MSFT keeps trying but I'd look for some other solution for media libraries. That's my solution.
I'm only an old programmer and more with pre-DOS experience to present day. Why use what WMP?

That was my backup plan. I figured this way I wouldn't have to install a client on all my target machines, plus the PS3 could read it.
