Issue with video files and games

Hi all,

The files that require any sort of video won't work on my windows 7 PC. I'm trying to play some PC games and they simply don't load. Video files on my computer only play audio. If I stream any video from websites such as YouTube, the flash player becomes unresponsive.

I'm assuming this solution to all these problems are very much related. I've updated my video card driver. If anyone knows of a solution, it would be very much appreciated.

Some specs:
Windows 7 -64 bit
Intel i7 930
Radeon HD 5800 series

Make/model of computer, etc.?

Some firewalls will block firefox's plugincontainer.exe, and then after the block is enabled, no flash video will play, but sound will be heard. Version of flash and browser used would be helpful here.
