Did that; however it removes the Google Search bar at the top of my screen. I find the search bar to be very helpful, so I guess there's no alternative.... is that correct?

Add the Google searchbar

I disabled Google update and added the Google searchbar. That did it for me with IE9. No doubt that Google update every day is a pain in the posterier.

Get rid of the pests

Pleasant,

Coupla' suggestions:

1. The aforementioned "disable in Manage-Addon's.

2. Start>type in "msconfig">navigate to "startup">uncheck any Google reference.

3. Drill/operate/look for in/into the registry, highlight computer in left hand pane>Edit>Find>type in "updater">hit the enter key and let the regeditor find references to any updater. JUST MAKE SURE YOU ONLY DELETE THE ONE THAT HAS A DEFINITIVE GOOGLE REFERENCE. I'M CAPITALIZING HERE TO MAKE A POINT...ANY SCREW-UPS HERE AND YOUR SYS IS TOAST. When the first reference is found and is NOT the one you want hit the F3 key to find the next one UNTIL you find the Google Updater. Let the regeditor confinue searching (F3 key) until it tells you that it "has finished searching the registry"....or something to that effect.

That should do it, hope this helps and PLEASE HEED THE WARNING ABOVE. ANY SCREW-UPS IN THE REGISTRY WILL TOAST YOUR SYS. GOOD-BYE COMPUTER!!!!!
