Dell Inspiron no sound

my dell inspiron has no sound,sigmatel c-major sound card and driver but pc error message reads a device attached to the system is not functioning can anyone help?

1. Motherboard.
2. Audio.
Dell.com usually is good about this as you input your service tag.

look in device manager for the yellow triangle by your audio device, double click to open application, click driver, then click update driver. If that doesn't work try looking up the driver, using the computer documentation, and download. If the sound card still won't work call Dell, but be aware that if y't have you don't have tech support they will charge you to answer your question.
Not an issue for me.

I have no triangles and pretty used to driver hunts. Over the years you get better at this but you also discover that folk want a step by step. I have guides.
