Windows 7 forum: recycle bin emptying order

recycle bin emptying order

I have always assumed that Windows 7 recycle bin empties the oldest folders/files first when it reaches its size limit. But I recently found some large folders emptied within minutes while files several days old are still present. (There was no message saying the folders were too big). Does anyone know precisely how Windows 7 decides which files to empty first? Is there a hierarchy?

Either you have deleted using Shift+Del or

If you delete files using Shift+Del then they just bypass recycle bin, or when the size of the file you delete is bigger than the space available in the recycle bin then also the files are permanently deleted.
