Configuring Windows XP Mode

I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 (Ultimate). All of my programs run beautifully on W7 with one exception--an old (and indispensable) version of Quicken for Windows.
Luckily, this program runs fine in Windows XP Mode. At the moment, however, I can't get XP mode fully set up.
Printer--Windows XP Mode does not see my printer. I thought in XP Mode all my peripherals were made available to the programs 'out of the box'.
Mouse--The scroll wheel on my Logitech mouse works in the Windows and Internet Explorer but not in Quicken. I have not yet tried installing the Logitech drivers. In Windows XP itself I never had to do this.
Screen resolution--I would like to adjust the screen resolution in XP mode as Quicken is practically microscopic on my new, hi-res screen. However, when I go to properties to adjust it, I cannot change the value.
When I googled these topics, one suggestion that came up repeatedly was to "disable integration." However, if I disable integration, won't I lose the printer and mouse functionality? On the other hand, these are exactly the features aren't working at the moment anyway.
I would be very happy if someone could offer some guidance.
