Manage updates with the Download App
I have recently been prompted to download a patch via the control centre of a TTS package.
After completing the update, the Package no longer worked.
I therfore tried to deinstall all components and reinstall the old version.
After the first of 4 Software Components was deinstalled I was prompeted:
Can not find the program, do you wish to remove it from the list (or something similar to that meaning)
I then went ahead an removed all files and folder I could find (programfiles86/ and in mydocuments (and one appdata .xms file)
then I tried reinstalling the older version with all components. The frst three went fine, and the last one now prompts me - newer version of controlcentre (name of the application) is already installed - but i cant find any remnants of the newer version with the search function.
where else do i have to remove the newer version so it will let me reinstall the old one.
Is there regestry entries or some such???

Things to do that might possibly help:
1. Try a third party uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller.
2. Contact the tech help of the company that wrote the TTS package. It's surely not a Microsoft issue.

System Restore back to before that update might be a quick fix.

can i see if there is an automatic restore point,
i havent set one myself, do they happen automatically?

Just start system restore and see what restore points are available.

unfortunatly i didnt set a restore point before doing the update. would there be one automatically?
how can i see that.
- will try revo, I was now thinking maybe reinstalling the newest version, then uninstalling that one might do a difference...

revo found something in that name (but its not the component that gave me the issue)
- starting uninstaller failed
- i chose moderate search - so it searched the registry for entries for leftover information
it found 66 registry items, but only 5 of them have the name in them.
it is asking me to check the ones i want to delete.
in 50 i could recognise the name so i went ahead an deleted those,
i tried reinstall and still the same error
