Cannot access Internet Explorer

I'm having problems with Windows......every time I open internet explorer, I get the message: Internet Explorer has stopped working. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I click close or X on the notice and it just keeps popping up.....I have to restart my computer to stop it. I can only get to google chrome.

How do I correct this....I am not a computer pro.

Seems like an add-on gone wild. Run IE in safe mode, and disable all, via Tools>Manage add-ons. Then - in normal mode - enable the add-ons you really need one by one to see if it was any of them.

I believe you're right. One of the other boxes that pop up reads: iexplore.exe application error. " The instruction at 0x0a7cfffb referenced memory at 0x0a7cfffb. the memory could not be written. Click on ok to terminate the program."

You'll have to talk me through this......if you tell me how to run IE in the safe mode, I may be able to do the rest.

Thanks for your help! I figured out how to get to the safe mode and was able to disable. So far so good! Thanks again!
