Windows 7 forum: response e-mail going to outlook

response e-mail going to outlook

There are some forms that I fill out on line that when I hit the send button on the form it tries to open and send it via outlook but I don't use outlook. I may be using g mail or yahoo or some other provider for my e-mail. Is there a way to change that? Normal e-mail works fine, it's only when I try to respond to a form on the internet, and not all forms do it. Thanks.

For example the mailto: tag uses your email client software which is NOT web mail like yahoo, gmail and the like.

Hopefully you know the difference between email software and web based email and why the mailto: tag does this.

You can research this further but any MAILTO: link fires up your email software which is NOT yahoo or gmail.

Depends on how the website administrator set this up.

Some use and require Outlook Express to receive mail sent by guests or users. Some don't.
