Change computer NAME

A laptop, which was under warranty, had to be taken to Best Buy and replace the hard drive which had failed. I just got it back and they have the Computer Name as Owner-PC. Would there be a problem if I changed the Computer Name back to what it was before the hard drive replacement?

Usually no effect.

I can't guess if you shared a drive or printer but that's the only time it seems to matter.

Besides you can always change it back.

And in fact if the computer is to be reconnected to a home network it might be necessary.

I already did all the setups i.e. connected to home network, installed network printer then I realized the issue regarding the computer name, which I should have done first.

The worst thing is that the folk that connect to your shared printer will have to connect again. Or you will have to connect to the shared printer again.

Good thing to learn about in any case.

I changed the name...

I changed the computer name and so far I haven't seen any issues. I printed a test page so at least I don't have to redo the network printer setup.
