They even have instruction to download it.-They have the game tiles I want.
Can you change their system to accommodate it to Window 7

- How do you mean: "accomodate it to Windows 7"? Not clear at all from your post.
- If you installed it from a CD you bought in the past (as you write below) the setup should still work (maybe up to the point where it says it isn't compatible with this OS), but something should happen. Not clear from your post why "it will not move". Move?

if I download a program, I store the installer in a folder on my hard disk. That folder is included in my regular backup.
That way, I can reinstall the program on a new PC, even if it's no longer available for download.

I cleaned the computer and than I -download the Window 7 .
Also I gave my other computer away.
I have the old game CD -all instruction is downloaded on my computer - but when I click on the setup - it will not move.,
I wish you had revealed that sooner.

Do you recall what happens when folk don't tell the doctor about other medications or conditions?
The results are less than happy and I read you are not happy. Then again, you kept details to yourself!

You asked where you could download or buy the game. Then you said you already had it on CD, so I'd say there is no need to download it. Problem solved.
Moreover, since you didn't tell what game exactly, nobody can tell where to download or buy it. Then you found it yourself. Problem solved another way.

I found the game in www.ihearttubuntu - but they use Linux operating system - my question was - how can I download it to window 7.......
I have the old disc -but when I download it -won't let me it says I need x86 (64)bit - how do I solve this problem - Since Mr Kees does not want to work.

To look into this and to share what I've done to get old titles running usually starts with folk sharing the title and maker of the game.
I missed where you shared the details. I have bits and pieces or clues but can't find the details I need to look further.
Sorry if I missed the detail I need above but I can't find it.

Until this post, you never said it was a Linux version of the game. So you can't really blame me I didn't know.
My PC in my study normally boots into Windows. But it's 3 keys (F11, down, enter) to let it boot into Linux, to run any Linux program I like. Would that be a feasible solution for your mother?
And I find it very strange that a Windows 98 game (as I read in a few posts lower in this thread) asks for a 64-bit OS. There wasn't even a 64-bit version of Windows 98. The very first Windows that came with 64 bit was XP and hardly anybody used it. Can you share the full and litteral error message?

By the way, I just looked a eBay and saw several Windows 98 PC's (apparently working) offered for an amazingly high $125 or so. If I had known that when I brought mine to the recycling a year ago!

Are never found. Too cheap to bother with which can upset those that "I make PCs for those that can't buy them" but those folk tend to repair everything in sight even if it will cost the next user extra dollars on the utilities.
Penny wise, pound foolish as they say.

The first 3 sellers I checked from http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=windows+98+computer all lived in the USA and they asked around USD 100.

That's a lot of money for a refurbished PII 400 Mhz with 256 MB of RAM, an unspecified hard disk and 30 days warranty. But it looks really nice.

I couldn't find that, but I found www.iheartubuntu.com , then their games page at http://www.iheartubuntu.com/search/label/ubuntu%20games
When I scrolled down the list of games I did find one Mahjong game at http://www.iheartubuntu.com/2011/10/ogs-mahjong-mahjongg-goes-3d.html but no others.
it is in 3D and is called OGS Mahjong
Is that the one you found? It won't work on Windows because that game advertised on that page is for Ubuntu, which is a Linux OS (Operating System).
But if that is the same game, you can now Google OGS Mahjong for Windows 7 to see if there are any versions available for Windows 7.
