No that's not what we are saying
Before you can restore back to a certain date, there has to have been a "Restore Point" created on that date. If no restore point is available for that date you cannot restore the system back to that date.
However, if there are restore points 'before' that date, they might work. And the same if there are restore points after that date.
System Restore is in two parts;
1] Create a System Restore point. Two ways this is done, either manually by the user, (Start > Search, type in create system restore point), or by the system itself on major changes like just before Windows Updates are installed.
2] Restore back to a previously created restore point.
Have you, or has the system, created a restore point for May 31st?
I wonder if we need to see the full story now. Why do you want to restore back to May 31 specifically?
