Windows 7 Continous Freezing after clicking start menu butto

Hi all,

I have been having a Windows 7 issue for a week now. Last week, my desktop computer had the "blue screen of death" and it sort of fixed itself and rebooted, and it seemed to be working again. However, in the past 2 days, everytime I turn on the computer, and then when the desktop pops up, and I click the start menu button, the whole desktop freezes and I can't click anywhere else.

I tried going on safe mode and do a system restore, but the choices of time to reset my computer was still after the blue screen of death.

It's really frustrating, because I can't turn my computer off properly anymore cause it just freezes, I can't backup my files, because it's frozen, and I can't backup in safe mode.

Please, are there any solutions to fix this freezing?

My advice to you is download Spy Bot Search and Destroy on another computer as well as a legit anti virus soft ware program like Kaspersky, put them both on a flash drive. Go into safe mode on your bad PC, transfer the files - run them both, then reboot. See if that helps.

If it does not, then go get your windows CD, boot from the cd (If this is too confusing just google "Booting from CD" )
find the command prompt option in the program that comes up, put these commands in

sfc /scandisk

then once again reboot...



If that doesn't help you might have to run some more commands..... I will check this thread in the morning to see if you responded with the results.
