I am using myeclipse Version: 8.6.1
I need to update a component named crystal report viewer.

I have version 1.1.5
and thereis a new one:

I cannot update via the configuration manager becasue I am not sure how it would intereact with the current projects there are there. I need to update manually.

Backup your system twice to be sure you can go back.

But this is commercial software with a support system. I know a bit about Java (I write the install/setup manual for some dev kits) but you should get any support from SAP on this one.

Hello and thanks for your response.

What I need to update is not a component for MyEclipse. What I need to update is the component for my project.

That is why I need to download the run-time libraries, and updated them manually.

I know I have to place the componente files, in a couple of places, and update an XML file where the reference is made, but I do not know their location.

Is it possible someone could explain these steps to me?

The author of the system you are working on would be best. Next is who supports your SAP. If you don't have such support then it appears it is time to get some. The link I provided shows support is available.

Then again there is the old question of why should we update such things if they work?

the new version has more exporting options

The current report viewer does not support exporting crystal to excel, SAP sayas that the new component does support this functionality which is really what we need.

I was researching this and ended up at the SAP site with the same support and numbers you see at your link!

Since SAP says this, they get to explain how to use, maintain, distribute it if your programming staff and support fails you.

I've written such documents (for pay) but here it's all about how to find support. You are looking at the right page but I can only guess what is stopping you from calling SAP.

I was able to update the component. I needed to update the WEB-INf libraries and then change the xml config file to point to the newer version.
