Just anticipating because I'll be getting rid of my two towers (ebay seller here lol) and getting a wireless router and a laptop since I no longer do a website or other activities I used to do. I've scaled back to very 'normal' internet activities and not on the computer much anymore but still want one with most of the 'creature comforts' I've grown accustomed to and like alot. I have Office Pro 2000 and the report from W7 check only shows an exclamation mark not a red "X" and advises that they have 'no compatability information for this program' with the suggestion that I get a paid upgrade, which I expected since it IS MS we're dealing with here. lol The only program or hardware I got a red "X" for is .NET 1.1 which is still on this computer but I have newer versions already installed...the older version didn't get written over or uninstalled. Some of my other programs also have exclamation marks along with some of my hardware, but the hardware will be going with this tower anyhow so I don't care much about that. Since I'll be getting rid of the towers I'm not concerned about hardware not being compatible because the XP disks will be going with them, too...I only ran the test mainly to find out about Office LOL Last but not least, I noticed that there is an option for XP Mode with W7...does that mean I can run that program in XP Mode after I install it if W7 doesn't want to play nice with it and can 'have my cake and eat it too' with Outlook? I know I can run some very old programs in W95 or W98 compatability mode with XP...does it work like that?
