Windows 7 WMP doesn't find files

I had a computer with Windows Vista, which was developing some problems, so I bought a new machine, which runs Windows 7 and Windows Media Player 12. I used EasyTransfer to transfer files to the new machine, and the music files are there -- I can see them in Windows Explorer. But WMP is only aware of some of the files. If I double-click a music file in Explorer, WMP will play it, and then it will show up in the library, but I have so many music files that double-clicking, and playing, every single one is not a great option. How do I get WMP to recognize all the miles?

Some music formats is not compatible with WMP.

you have 2 options:

1. download another media player.

2. download converter

go to http://filehippo.com/ for more options.

This is just an alternative.

The files worked in the old version of WMP. And, as I mentioned, if I double-click the file in Explorer, it plays fine, and that file now appears in the library. So you're not on the right track there.
