Windows 8 preview

I was informed by cnet that windows 8 preview is now a download. Well, I did download it and it is quite different than Vista and xp. First I had to get used to the new desktop interface. I really miss the start menu where I am able to see all of my programs that are downloaded on to the system. Now the start menu has boxes of icons which don't even resemble the previous start menu. You really have to dig around to find stuff. I think Microsoft should have left the regular start menu in in addition to the blocks of icons. Now since this is in the beta stage, I know as time passes before the release of version 8, there will be additional improvements. So far, my computer hasn't crashed but it did freeze up the IE browser on two occasions. I could close it within the task manager which is still the same. Whether I like this new windows will be determined of how Microsoft will fix some of the bugs. I also downloaded it because it is possible that beta testers might get the free version once released. It was done when win 7 was in the beta version. anyway, I am wondering if anyone else will have additional input on win 8.
