Brilliance control problem

Hi Everyone, My wife received as a gift of a used HP Pavilion DV7t-3100 and I ran a fresh install of Win 7 Pro 32 bit and find myself unable to adjust the brilliance. Reading a few posts others have had same problem with different makes and all mention Win 7 overwriting a file that controls this function and a manufactures driver file has to be re-installed after the Win 7 installation. My problem is I don't know which file this would be and would appreciate any help. Many thanks...

HP has some add on that does that. It's not a driver but some app. Anyone that clean installs Windows should know this area. But this is how most discover it.

I bet you want to know what drivers and apps are needed? Sure. HP will tell you if you ask them. Example at link.

Yes, thanks. As you mentioned with new install of Win 7 the graphics drivers need to be re-installed as Win 7 seems to over-write something where only the brilliance is uncontrollable.
