it is the error message.

The error message seems to be on your computer and no one else has reported it. You need to have Microsoft tell you why this is so.

If that's not an option I'd re-install the operating system.

The error message that I got was not when I was trying to open up Windows Media Player. I got that message when I went to windows features, and unchecked windows media player and also windows media center. It went through it's motions then my computer restarted and during the process of restarting it gave me that message.
It said there was a failure in configuring windows features and had to revert back to the original settings.
I hope this is more clear. One other thing I tried to open up an mp3 file in the windows media center and it worked and played the song.
Maybe this information will help. I was also thinking that maybe I should just do a restore from the image disk I made after I got my computer new and had things set up like I wanted them. Do you think that might help?

I can't help you. The error message appears to be on your machine and nobody else.

It is possible you changed or dropped a word in your post so you could correct that. But as it stands I can't use that as a clue. It could be the needed clue if the error was that, but I wonder if it is that.

If you find the exact words, tell that.

Perhaps there's a percentage that is suffering with this problem.

And few clues. Look at this discussion and the error message was not one I've seen or found with research. Later they updated the error message but it was too late. They reloaded the OS.

Without clues to work with we are left with backup your files a few times then start over.
