How to fix remote desktop random disconnects

I have a problem with remote desktop. I randomly get disconnected. There is never a set time that I get to stay logged on. The machine is a Windows 7 machine. No matter if I remote in from a windows xp or windows 7, i still get the random disconnect. I have updated both graphics and network drivers. I have unchecked all the options in the experience tab and even set the connection to modem

This is the only error I see that happens when I get the disconnect

I see that a lot of people have a problem with this error but so far no solutions work for me. . I tired making a search for the binary information but nothing came up.

If over the internet, you should see random disconnects. Why? Because it happens.

Could be a router/switch/cable is cut and the internet finds another route to get the new connection.

I wonder if you expected the internet connections to be "reliable"? (they are not!)

i found the problem

It happened even while being on the lan. And I know the internet is not supposed to reliable but there should be no reason for me to have 5, 10, 1, 7, etc min sessions.

I found the real problem. It had to do with enabling RDP with GPO. everytime gpupdate ran, that is what was causing my problem.

Can you clarify your resolution? Did you enable RDP to resolve or was it enabled already. And what exactly did you need to do to stop this from reoccuring? Thanks for any info.

manually enabled RDP

The machine i was having problem with had RDP enabled from a GPO. In the registry, it had the setting set to have RDP disabled. Everytime gpupdate would run, that registry setting would be come valid and kick me out. Once gpupdate was done running, gpupdate could overwrite that setting and allow me to connect once again. I went into regedit and changed HKEY_Local_machine\ system\currentcontrolset\control\terminal server entry fDenyTSConnections from 1 to 0, forcing it to always have RDP enabled

Unbeliveable !

We have been having random disconnects for 3 weeks now, we tried everything possible. From iPv6, SNP changes, hotfixes (10), host config, protocol compression, RDP security etc. This finally fixed it, we have a GPO that enable RDP per default but we never changed the original setting.
