I decided to finally install Windows 7. I always knew I was going to anyways and take out vista so I guess it was time.
I was taking three partitions and making two. That part works (Windows 7 I guess creates its own Boot Partition).
The Install looks like it all worked fine. It asks as part of the Install if I want to download any Critical updates. I said sure.
After a couple of reboots I guess it was done, but I only get a Desktop picture. No Start Menu or even a Mouse. It just sits there. I boot into safe mode and that has the Menu and Start and all. I boot again and same thing only Desktop picture. Something must be wrong with the updates. So I reinstall windows 7 again.
This time I skip it installing the updates (at first). I get to Windows 7 with just the Generic Drivers. This time I get into Windows 7. Start and task bar and all its glory. I then again do Windows update. This time its like 88 updates (before I think it was only 4-5). I let them all install. It reboots. Again back to the same thing of just having the desktop.
Boot into safe and safe mode works.
I booted into safe mode this morning and it seems like MMC isn't starting correctly? I saw some error with Snap On? Not sure. I need to look at it more. Any idea?
Thanks
