Windows 7 forum: 0xc00000e9 and the network

0xc00000e9 and the network

One PC on the home network is on a bad battery backup which tends to take that room's network down during a power blink. Obviously, that battery needs to be replaced, but it has revealed another problem...

when that computer and network (printers, USB drives plugged into that machine and so forth) goes down, the machine in another room freezes- rebooting the frozen machine before that network comes back up gets you locked into the boot manager error screen for 0xc00000e9 an I/O error. So somewhere those two rooms are sharing some device or drive. No idea which one. Could it be the network printer? A USB drive?

How does one un-link whatever is linked?

What Else Is Shared Besides Printer?

You mentioned "USB drives....as so forth"... Does the computer with the bad battery share a file/program which resides on a USB drive? Does the remote computer save it's "My Documents" files to the "bad" computer?

Sorry, there's not much else that should affect the remote computer.

The only thing that happens with the remote computer is the printers.

But HP is pretty good at telling me when I need to. And technically there are some flash drives that flipflop back and forth between the two rooms. But not any that have been plugged in during the issue.
