Windows 7 forum: Windows 7 not installing drivers for Sennheiser MM100

Help me out here.

I don't know anything about headsets, but all the reviews I read about this Sennheiser MM 100 bluetooth headphone refers to the iPhone or bluetooth capable phones.

Are you sure this is a PC device?

Thanx for the response. sennheiser.com mentions that MM 100 can connect to any bluetooth device (http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/home_en.nsf/root/private_headsets_mobile_music_504111):
"Connect everywhere - to mobiles, laptops or MP3 players - or two sources at once if needed"

Also, I've a laptop and it has bluetooth capabilities. Any other suggestions?

I too have the same problem, made even more annying by the fact that I asked this specific question of Sennheiser BEFORE I ordered 2 MM100s. Since the consequent purchase, I have twice asked Sennheiser foe assistance, and all they do is try to sell me "compaibility" gadgets or dongles. A very expensive lesson well learned --never buy a Sennheiser product again, and make my nest computer a Mac!!!

If you want to use the MM100 as stereo headphones use the third option that W7 gives you when profiling them in the install process (Not my hands-free comms device or whatever it says).

If you have a built-in mic on your computer or plug an external mic into the mic socket you can still use the MM100 as part of a headset for voice comms like Skype too (or at least I've been able to).

Thanks, that info was somewhat helpful to me cos it turns out my Dell M1730 was supplied with Windows Vista, which I upgraded to Windows 7 by purchasing an upgrade from Dell who indicated that the Bluetooth755 module was compatible with Windows 7, but failed to mention that they would not support Windows7 on the M1730--a truth covering a deception. accordingly, None of my Bluetooth hardware now works with my M1730, and Dell will not upgrade the Bluetooth to Windows 7 unless I buy a new computer!! That may happen, but now I have forgiven Sennheiser and transfered my everlasting angst to Dell!!! An Air looks better every day!

I've solved my problem just following your hints, it means install the proper bluetooth driver for my Dell laptop. Now it is working perfectly!!

Right-click the headset in Windows 7 (Devices and Printers) and select Properties. Go to Services and deselect all services except Bluetooth Headset (ensure this one is the only service selected) and click Apply. Now from Devices and Printers double click on the headset and it should bring up a window. Click "Connect" and keep this window open. Now go to Playback Devices (sound icon in Taskbar) and select bluetooth headset as default device. It should now work fine as long as you leave the connection window open.
