Can't do System Restore!

I am having problems in various areas such as Windows Live Mail, not being able to update Avast (it says it can't connect with the server) so I thought I would do a System Restore.

That doesn't work either. It acts as if it was going to do something and then says it can't restore, try another and I do and it still doesn't work.

I'm really not too sure of myself on this Windows 7 so it is probably something that I'm doing wrong in that area.

Help!!!!

I found the reason for all my problems. It was very simply........I had put a password on the Windows sign in on another computer and it locked my other computer.

Cancelled the password and everything works fine.

Maybe this will help someone else experiencing the same thing.
