Custom PC

I'm looking to get a new computer, but not just any computer, a custom computer. I want it to be able to play any any new game and upcoming game on the highest graphics settings without lag. I also want it to be able to play older games like StarCraft, Diablo, Diablo II, Warcraft II: BNE, SWAT 3, and other games from the 1990s and early 2000s. However, I don't know how to do this sort of thing, like order a custom PC and tell them what I want and what-not. But here's pretty much what I want for it:

Specifications
-Windows 7 (I'll multi-boot it with XP)
-Several hundred GB of hard-drive space
-God-like amount of RAM (like anywhere from 15-30 thousand RAM)
-2 DVD-RW drives
-USB ports
-A fantastic HD monitor
-A fantastic video card
-A fantastic sound card
-3?-inch floppy drive
-Everything else being extremely great and high quality

then one choice would be Dell's Alienware Custom Built Gaming PCs;

12GB Triple Channel 1600MHz DDR3 RAM. Limited to 12 GB admittedly but if you need more then you're into a different league.
Dual graphics cards with their own memory, anything from 1GB up to 5GB.
Intel? Core? i7 980x Extreme Six Core Processor (3.33GHz, 12MB Cache), or any other Intel you wish, overclocked or not.
Up to 4 internal hard drives, any Non-Raid or various RAID formats, each drive can be up to 2TB.
CD/DVD R/RW, BlueRay optional.
Monitor optional.

Those older games may be a problem, but with Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, you get to use XP Mode for the older games.

But we're talking suitcases full of dollars here.

nowadays, a budget pc will work just fine as long as....

if you can spend the money, a gaming machine would be perfect. but if you are not looking to afford upwards of $2,000, then consider that many of today's budget pcs will work just fine if you do a couple of fixes on them.

there are two main routes to go. cheap and fix it up--not entirely unlike a build, but very much less complicated. a quick search found me at walmartDOTcom looking at a refurb they are selling for $250. adding a 4th gig of ram, swapping out for a bigger power supply -- like a 400w to 500w--and adding an additional desktop fan and swapping out the moderate graphics card for a high-end one will make this unit able to play any game out there for right at or under $600

anyrate, the idea is that you dont have to build a computer nowadays in order to play the games you want. a good friend of mine spend more than a grand on his build four and a half years ago. and the computer i bought on clearance at best buy for $350 a year and a half ago is a lot more machine. i switched out the power supply, added a fan, and a decent invidia gpu and now im playing arkham city without lags and that's pretty cool.
