Win 7 Icons are hard to read.

I changed my theme to a solid background and now my icon texts are white. I've followed all the other suggestions like right clicking on the desktop and changing dpi, etc, but I want black text so I can read the icons again! Does Win 7 have an XP type of personalization hidden somewhere? That would really be nice!

Or that may be Personalization, not sure about the differences between US English and UK English

Right click the Desktop, select Personalise. In the new window click "Windows Color and Appearance". In the new page, click "Open classic appearance properties for more color options". In the new dialog window, click "Advanced", then you can select what you want to change from the pull down box.

Icon fonts

I don't have Windows color and appearance. Somehow I did find something similar with drop down menus, but they're greek to me! Nothing about fonts tho except for fixing clear type. Thanks, for trying tho, and if you find out from someone else, I'll be here still searching this new Windows! happy

Windows Color...fonts and all!

I found it! Yes, I googled... and yahooed and even checked the MS sites, but I found it quite by accident just now!

When you go to the Personalize where you can select Themes, it is at the bottom of the page between Background and Sounds! I'd never bothered with it because I got the impression it was to change the colors of my pages, etc. It is labled Windows Color, and if you click on it, the old Display page pops up! Just click on the drop-down menu and make your selections!

Yey, when Vista came out, I went back to XP! Think I'll like the Win 7 tho; doesn't seem to have the problems and aggravation Vista did.
