Blank screen after Windows Update

I have a Dell Studio laptop, Windows 7 64bit Professional. After installing an automatic update from Windows Update, upon reboot the screen is completely blank (actually a white color with some streaks on it). The computer boots up normally, and I can see the desktop on an external display only. So I used system restore to restore to a previous time, and when rebooting I had a picture on the screen again.

Here's the problem, after another windows update, the same thing happened, except now after rolling back the updates to a previous time, I'm still getting the blank-white screen. I've tried everything to get the screen to work again: uninstalling windows updates one by one, rebooting, system restore etc.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

its possible the updates were not intended for 64 bit w7 it could be that your gpu drivers have been corrupted by the updates..
