Windows 7 forum: Hyperlinks, blocked by security setting

If I click on a hyperlink (i.e. to a website) in an e-mail, I am blocked by the system. I am the administrator.

Whilst I can see your point and I understand the dangers I find it rather patronizing that the decision is made for me.
I have a similar problem with Excel 2007. Hyperlinks that I have entered and need to access directly are disabled by Window 7.

How do I disable Window's 7 invasive restrictions on my productivity?

I am administrator, hyperlinks in an e-mail are blocked when I click on them. I can copy the link, past it into explorer and it works, but I can't just "click and go"

I tried what you suggested. The settings you recommended were already set. I think it may have something to do with a security setting, but I went through that area and couldn't find anywhere to change a users setting to allow "hyperlink clicks"

Windows firewall, "managed by Symantec Endpoint", but this condition existed before I installed Symantec

I use Outlook. The message I get is "The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your systems Administrator." This seems to be an Outlook warning. I just realized, thanks to you, that this might be in Outlook, not Windows security.

I looked in the "trust center" in Outlook, but can't find the check box to change. I'm puzzled

I find I need to set the browser back to Microsoft's Internet Explorer and re-register the HTM files. Here's a note on that.

OK, there are some that will not, can not do this because the error messages don't match. But I continue to do this because the error messages vary and I want this issue fixed first then I can go check other security things.

But I can't help you further. WHY? Because there are some more than a handful of Outlook versions and then we have Norton, Kap, McAfee and the McCoy's all battling it out to secure your system. I am a little put off by these security suites not owning up to the issue or doing such things when they expire.
