STOP 0x0000001E

I Googled the error and one resource said to update drivers and bios. So I did. Everything should be up to date. I hoped that would fix the problem, but I'm still getting this error. It seems I only get the STOP error when I'm playing a game, even though it has happened while doing other things.

I don't know what to do. So here is the DMP file, sysdata file, and the report.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/275678/EN-US/ is about Windows 2000, but it might still be valid. Given your mention of games, I'd start with #4 and #6.

But I'm afraid that http://forums.techguy.org/windows-xp/406960-stop-0x0000001e-kmode-exception-not-4.html is more applicable: "The bottom line here is, if this is not a hardware problem such as faulty ram, a misbehaving motherboard, or perhaps even a bad video card, then there is some corruption of a core system file which only a reinstall will fix in my opinion."

Checking the RAM is easy (for example: www.memtest86.com). If that turns up no errors, you must take a guess about what to do first:
- replace the videocard
- replace the motherboard
- clean install of the OS
The easy case would be a RAM error. So you may be lucky.
