Calibration report using these settings:

Below you'll find the settings I found best for viewing the Vizio E472VLE in a dim room via the HDMI input. Your settings may vary depending on source, room conditions, and personal preference. Check out the Picture settings and calibration FAQ for more information.

Calibration notes: I began by selecting the Movie mode because it provided a default light output closest to our standard of 40Fl, combines with the most accurate color of any of the presets. It still crushed bright detail quite a bit, however; I reduced the contrast control from 85 to 50 to compensate. The backlight control was set to the default "DCR," which caused the backlight to dim significantly, with an obvious fluctuation, when the TV displayed dark material. I turned that control "Off" as usual, which made black levels brighter but did improve gamma quite a bit (as I mention in the review I'd probably leave it on myself; these settings work well with a brightness tweak, below). I also measured the various "Color Enhancement" modes but none improved upon the default (for Movie) setting of "Off." What did work well, however, was reducing the color control from 50 to 40. I barely had to tweak the color temperature settings.
