can't import contacts from vista to windows7 live mail

I successfully transferred all my email contacts from Vista to my new computer, and I can read them. Problem is Live mail does not recognize them unless I go into each contact and click on 'Add'. Must be an easier way.

Try the old Control+A then click on Add. Be aware that folk usually bump into some other Live issue and then lose it all. It's a free MSFT app and the issues are ones that you can't seem to get help with.
