If I change my account from POP3 to IMAP, will I lose any of my saved messages in my Windows Live Mail program? I keep getting account locked messages with the POP3 account--

We only lose what we don't backup.

disappear? Would I need to back up the inbox and folders on an external harddrive? Is that what you mean by backup??

Pop and Imap are different so no reason to expect items to stick around. Is there any reason to not backup stuff you don't want to lose?

How would I back it up?? I am not sure how and I have a lot of emails from many years.
