Window opens minimised

When I click for a file the window opens minimised - say one quarter of screen vertically. I am sure there is a setting to adjust this; could anybody help ?

Windows XP SP3

Do you mean minimised ? No ! I mean about quarter screen. My mistake.

That's just opening to a certain size. Minimize in Windows programming is where it's on the taskbar, notification bar or even hidden.

Try the usual. Open it and resize it to bigger (do not maximize it!) and then close it. If nothing is amiss then the next time it will open at the last size you had it.
