Search not working properly anymore

Am using WLM 2011 for the desktop, with Vista.

I notice that search is not working properly anymore in WLM. When I type something in the box it seems to be finding only some messages now, possibly only those with the search term in the From or Subject line.

Yesterday I changed the Indexing settings for searching from the start menu in Vista, I removed .eml files from the list of files to show in the search. I did not think this would affect searching in WLM as well, but I assume it has. Does anyone understand how WLM's search faciltiy works and whether it uses the same indexing that the Start menu search uses?

WLM Search

I was actually hoping someone could clarify whether WLM uses the indexing function. The reason I took the *.eml files out of the indexing was because I don't want emails coming up in the Start menu search function. Does anyone know if there's a way of doing this? IE for the WLM search function to work, but the Start menu search not to find and show emails?

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=does+windows+live+mail+use+indexing seems to agree it does use indexing.

If you need an authoritative answer, you have to call in or accept answers on Microsoft's forums.
